Ask Mary: Where can I find online cast iron auctions?

Leigh Ann W. of Greensboro North Carolina wrote to me and asked:

Are there auctions -other than eBay- that you can participate in online? (Without actually being there). I never seem to see any of these in my area.

Yes, there are.

There are more than just these three sites. These three are ones I have personally followed for cast iron auctions. Readers, if there are others that you think I should add, please do contact me and let me know.

  • Shop Goodwill (similar to eBay – watch the shipping charges!)
  • Proxibid (can follow live auctions real-time)
  • AuctionZip (can follow live auctions real-time)

Be sure to know all of the terms and conditions of the auction before you bid; see my blog post about cast iron auctions for more tips!
