How To: Google Images Search

A Google images search can be a great resource when trying to identify unmarked vintage and antique cast iron cookware.

Often, old cast iron pieces that you find do not carry the manufacturer’s name. Or if they do, you might need help figuring out what the piece is, when it was manufactured, or how it was used.

I made a little youtube video that should help you to use images to narrow down the field.

Here is a photo of the pan I was trying to identify for purposes of this exercise:

Marked on bottom with number 5 and 1030

And yes, of course the pan is an Iron Mountain (by Griswold) no. 5 cast iron skillet with heat ring.

I hope you find this little tutorial helpful as you work to identify all of your fabulous cast iron finds!
